Day One - Welcome

After checking into the hotel you can grab breakfast and take a quick walk around the city of Angra do Heroismo.

We'll then leave you to rest and join you again for a "Welcome" meeting at 6:00pm.

Day Two - Volcanos

We'll start the day early afternoon with a tour of the volcanic history of the island.  We'll visit the view point of Serra da Cume which overlooks a giant caldeira that holds the iconic green patchwork of the island.  After this you'll climb into the volcano of Algar do Carvao and look up and out a volcano chimney!

After the tour we'll grab pizzas to watch the sunset at the view point of Raminho and relax next to a fire. The only sounds will be the waves crashing and the one of a kind call of the Cory's shearwater bird.

Day Three - History & Gastronomy

Today is a full day tour, leaving right after breakfast.  We'll begin on Mount Brasil and continue around the exterior coast learning about the history of the island and sampling the delicious coffee, local pastries, traditional dinner, gelato and cheese!

Day Four - Wine

Today is all about the north coast.  Biscoitos. We'll join our friends at Dimas Adega for their harvest celebrations. We'll spend the day walking, swimming and of course picking grapes!   We'll end the day with a traditional harvest feast at the Adega.

Day Five - Bulls

Today is about the bulls of Terceira.  We'll start our day in the inner island where the bulls are chosen to run for the day.  We'll have a traditional barbeque and a few drinks as we watch the selection process and learn about the cultural significance of the bull runs.  Afterwards we'll join the procession of vehicles as they travel to the town of the run.  We'll find a safe spot and watch the traditional roped bull run.  Don't worry - the bulls are not harmed on Terceira.

Day Six - Alcatra

Today we make Alcatra!  We'll learn to prepare the tradtional meal in a terracotta dish and while it's cooking, we'll explore a local historical museum and swim at the pool .  We'll end the day enjoying the delicious meal we've prepared!

Day Seven - Free Day

Explore the city, relax by the beach - this day is yours to do as you wish.  If you're looking for something to do - add on a whale watch, donkey excursion of a beautiful hike
